"Let’s spark curiosity and give our students an all access pass to global collaborations. Join me to empower students to explore the world, expose them to an authentic audience, and facilitate experiences with their peers worldwide. Participate in a live Skype and explore Why-Where-How to foster student collaborations. * Participants will learn the ""Why-Where-How"" they should foster student collaborations by participating in a live Skype and seeing examples from my classroom for the past several years.
Participants will learn how to find classrooms to collaborate with via Skype/Google Hangouts/Twitter by visiting, interacting, and searching the Skype in the Classroom and Twitter site.
Participants will learn how to foster student collaborations using various edtech platforms like Edmodo, Google Slides, Buncee, and Flipgrid by experiencing these tools and creating their own templates/examples to share with their students.
Participants will learn how to prepare their students for their upcoming collaborations by experiencing the entire process with fellow attendees like brainstorming questions to ask for first global connection, prepare resources for students to use during interactions, and creating possible projects and creations for their students to engage with their global peers.
Participants will learn how to assist their students to foster empathy, build relationships, and widen their authentic audience by experiencing a live skype interaction, working with other attendees, and browsing tools like Pen Pal Schools and Empatico who house activities for this purpose."
